You may have heard me tease that I am in the habit of "kidnapping" my siblings and it is true I love my family a lot.
Even when they do this.
We are close-knit, tightly-bonded, joined-at-the-hip, whatever.
We get along.
We've got each-other's back.
1. Paleo dinner 2. Anniversary gift from my parents
We help one-another.
Laugh together.
Sit on each-other.
We even have the same dietary concerns - which makes family feasts pretty delicious.
Family is a blessing I find often on my thankfulness platter.
It is a sweetness I love scooping up in the spoonful of my days.
So while I may not actually be a kidnapper, I am quite happy to draw my family in, collecting them, enticing them like a crazy cat lady with the next inhabitant of her cat house; feeding, coddling and inviting to come a little closer...
{1. welcoming the moving truck 2. seasoning the front steps, 3. breaking-in the trees, 4. warming the house}
So I am overjoyed to say my dear family has succumbed to my coaxing and my needling urges to tie them up, nice and tidy, in the parcel of my town. They just moved into a gorgeous house five blocks down our street.
This was my fortune on Sunday:
I like that. Maybe I would add the notion of spiritual family in there for balance and spectrum, but in general the word family speaks to the idea of love. Love is pretty great stuff to live for and focus on.
Lucky for me, Mr. Loggerhead has family nearby and I have family just a skip away.
That's a lot of love happening in our corner of the World.
So if love and family are to be my priority this year, I'm happy to be focusing on something a little closer to home.
Love,
Prioritizing in NE
Aw, I love your fortune!
ReplyDeleteMy life has sure changed by moving close to mine!
I am so excited for you. I wish I could collect my far away kids and bring them closer! I'm thinking in the next four years, we may have to move closer to our business and Kent, just because of gas prices.
